A £60m railway bridge across the East Coast Main Line in Hertfordshire is designed to improve services.

Still have the problem with the tunnel at Welwyn North and the twin track Welwyn viaduct though. Wonder if they ever will double them up as was proposed some years back?

As usefull as it would be, I think that they should open a closed route.
See, Beeching was clueless.

I wonder how this is going to fit in with the new East - West Varsity line ? Most of the plans that I have seen show new services joining from the west via this self same junction

Indeed I seem to recall that some preliminary track bed clearance had taken place on the western section already, so its very much an active project.
