After some degree of arm twisting.
I have finally got round to saying Hello,
Being of a certain age I have memories of when we had decent engines with bits that could be seen going round and so have little interest in modern times therefore my intetrests are more shall we say atmospheric than today's efforts. Favourite loco the J15 since I was often on the footplate at Broxbourne station 'helping' to re-arrange assorted wagons. Can't do that these days what with health and safety and all that. Favourite design Hudswell Clarke and Rogers 4.4.0 tank from the Yarmouth and North Norfolk railway since I built one in 5 inch gauge and favourite railway the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch necause it is the only real railway we have left. Local line The Nene Valley 10 minutes up the A1 from home. Now having created some degree of unrest I think I'll just hold my shovel over my head and duck down. John |

You'll like it here John, there's a definite whiff of hot oil and steam about the site. For the benefit of the membership, I should confess that I have known John via the internet for ....what would it be.....six years? He's an all round good bloke and hugely knowledgeable when it comes to the arcane workings of the steam locomotive. |
