Hello and advice!

Hello to everyone on the site. I am looking to start looking at Steam trains and wondered if there is a good "bible" I can get to give me a good solid coverage of the subject matter? Any advice would be gratefully received

Hello Harsh2uk. Welcome to the forum. I love all things steam and there are many a good book on this fine subject. Try a visit to the National Railway Museum in York and see what your perticular interest would be. You also have the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway nearby, not massive I know but interesting all the same.
A lot would depend on your area of interest.
Hope you find what your looking for
All the best
Phil

Phil/Stuart, Many thanks for replying. Book ordered and trip to York in the near future. Been once before but it was years ago. Thank you again and look forward to more advice and chats.

Its a postcard of the Mallard/ and Blue Peter from 1988, it was franked at British Rail Maintenance Ltd (Plant Works)
Doncaster 03 july 1988 It says depot franking of 50 cards this one is number 35
It also has an 18p "By Train" postage stamp on it. Very good condition. John.
