Well, I'D like to see it again - I've still not ever managed to see it when I've had a camera with me!

In the 70's(?) I waited for the Scotsman to come through on a special. I had a cheap and nasty camera. By the time FS had come screaming through the light had faded, and all I got were the lights.

Out of all the LNER loco's I think Mallard deseves more limelight, but its always Scotsman, Scotsman, Scotsman. Although I did like it when it was in BR condition with German smoke Defectors, even if the Scotsman Mafia got very upset!

Thing is it is the most famous loco in the world for all sorts of reasons. The greatest thing is the loco is ours and not the Germans or the Americans who claim to be best at everything. There is only one A3 as well- 6 A4s.
It always makes money in the end, we will see a Tornado like turnout at the ELR. Wonder if that will be there too? I would sell both arms and both legs to be on a double header with those two!!!
