Theres a website with all the preserved BR diesel locos which can be found at http://www.preserved-diesels.co.uk/

Theres plenty of photos of all the different classes and locos, etc.

Go to the downloads page, there are four data files which cover all classes. So not only can you then find the preserved examples, you can also see survivors in industry & epitaphs for the rest!

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if there is an up to date edition of"Preserved Locomotives of British Railways," I have the 10th edition published in 2001. If there is an up to date edtion it would have a full list of preserved BR Deisels.

Another very useful download is at:
http://www.trainweb.org/pleg/files/pleg_gen_sheet.xls
- which also lists current operational status.

I on't have my refernce books to hand to be 100% sure (will check later in the week for you), but i think it is an ex-industrial ruston 88DS masquerading as 20 / 97020 formerly of Reading signal works.

Unfortunately i was correct. 20/97020 was cut on site in 1982.

So the current 20, albeit a 88DS, is an industrial imposter.
