looking for drawings

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone may be able to help. I'm currently atempting to convert a Grafar GP 0-6-0 tank into an Andrew Barclay 0-6-0 as it looked when it worked for the Wemyss Private railway. Below is a link to a site that has some photos of the engine I'm trying to recreate.

http://www.braehead.info/buckhaven/h...e_railway.html

The engine I'm looking at is the top one and the O Gauge brass kit. I like the look of the cut out in the side tanks and think it would look great pulling my Fife Coal and Wemyss coal wagons. I have already converted a brake van into WPR No3 further down the page.

Would anyone have any drawings of the Andrew Barclay 0-6-0T engines? At the moment I'm kind of guessing the various dimensions from these two photos and it would be easier if I had some drawings to work from.

Regards,

Alex

I think the original Andrew Barclay Drawings are at Glasgow University, so they might have a general arrangement drawing.

Thanks for the link.

Best wishes,

I have just done a search of previous posts and I can confirm that Glasgow University have the Andrew Barclay General Arrangement Drawings if you want to go to those lengths!

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Hi John,

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can get in touch with them about copies.

Welcome to the Forum Alan.

What Andrew Barclay drawings do you have? I am involved in the overhaul of a 16" Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Hi Alan,

No I didn't get any drawings yet. I did find a line drawing in a book about the WPR so I have scaled that to roughly N Gauge size and I am slowly scratchbuilding the engine.

But if you have any drawings that would be great. I'm building WPR no19. This was a Barclay 0-6-0T. The side tanks had the cutouts near the front. My donor chassis is from a Grafar 0-6-0GP tank.

Regards,

Alex

Hi John & Alex,
John, sorry I don`t have `engineering drawings` ie Barclay original drawings only GA drawings suitable for model making so I cant help you.
Alex, If you mean Brotchies book about the WPR I know the drawings you mean. However I`ve also got a copy of the article & drawings 4mm scale which appeared in Railway Modeller many years ago. As a newbi how do I send them to you via the forum.
Regards Alan
