Well I would have allowed it to travel on my train as long as it sat on the seat and kept its' feet on the floor, as I used to say to dog owners with dogs on the seat.

On thinking about this, 50 years ago the railway would have had no coice but to carry the pony under its common carrier status. Funny how things change.

Yep, you are right.

But not in a passenger carriage.

Ah, silly me. I think I've made a bit of an ass of myself then.

This makes me think, because I recall that I read something about miniature ponies being used as guids for the visually or hearing impaired.
I wonder what the policy would be about taking those on trains, they aren't any bigger than a medium sized dog.
