Plug: Railway Stations UK

Some of you may have come across my former Fotopic site "Railway Stations UK" (I had over a million unique visitors, so the odds are one or two people might have seen it). As you are probably aware, Fotopic has died and the site has died with it so I am in the process of resurrecting it using a new host. It isn't very comprehensive as yet, but Rome wasn't built in a day

If you'd care to take a look the link is below. Comments would be welcome.
Cheers.

A fine site - many interesting photos . Only problem is probably more to do with my slowish broadband connection than with your site. Clicking an image to view an enlarged version, it took about 5 - 6 seconds to load the enlarged photo. Strangely, however, clicking your "next" link on a photo gave almost instantaneous loading of the next enlarged photo. (I suspect that anyone still with dial-up internet access might have problems viewing the enlarged photos.) Good luck with getting all your photos back on line - it will take a lot of work & time.

This is a concern. It does the same thing for me, but then again I too only have a slow connection (between 1 and 2 megs depending on the day). It would be nice to know how it behaves for someone with a fast connection.

Ideally I'd like the full sized images to be a bit bigger too but it doesn't appear to be an option.

Thanks for your feedback

I think the first picture appears to open slowly because the software is also opening up the other thumbnails "behind the scenes" at the same time. That's why subsequent pictures open up much more quickly.

I had no trouble opening the site and the photos enlarged in just a couple of seconds. Interesting site and hopefully I will see stations in and around Lincoln including Market Rasen where it all started for me.
