That goes for me as well. The final shots of the "Red Devil" and the Class 25NC were heartbreaking.
The Rail Modellers Reference Pics are fantastic though, as are the other archives.
Thanks for posting the link.

Glad you found it useful Tom F. That is what I like about this forum, infomation advice and tips passed on to others as well as the storys that are now starting to be posted. There have been a lot of very good photos posted of late, but I can't keep saying great photo, or good shot. Thats why I suggestered a 1-10 rating system. There are many of then around so I don't thing it would be to hard to add one to the system.

Thanks very much for the site. I have had a quick look at the Hall of Shame and share your heartbreak. I have added the site to my favourites so that I can study it in depth later.

My grandfather worked for South African Railways during the late 19th and early 20th centuries so it is great to have access to this site.

I would be delighted to have you rate my photos against your system, as it may help me to take better photos!

Brilliant site that Syd, and thanks for posting the link.

I've got a tenuous link with South Africa in that my mother in law was born in Bloemfontein. I never met her as she died before I met the missus. However, one of the wife's cousins arrived here from Durban a couple of years ago and is now a permanent resident of Scunthorpe (of all places!). I'll pass the link on to him, I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

Like John H-T I'm putting this on favourites right away!

For some good photos of how not to wash a loco go to www.sa-transport.co.za/trains/train_index.html and look at the 'What went wrong' aka The 'Oops' Page.
Syd.
