Georgemas Pipes
For some unknown reason the the tv channel for this site wont find the video on my computer so here's a link to you tube.
6X88 leaves Hartlepool at about 05.30hrs and arrives at Georgemas in the far north of Scotland the following morning around 06.45hrs.The train arrives arrives usually with 11 loads of 5 pipes per load. 6E69 the empty train is booked away from Goergemas at 17.45hrs and stables in Inverness overnight and departs again at 0530hrs for Tees Yard arriving I think around 18.30hrs. There's a logger grab on the same page as this with over 2million hits and its amazing how easy that machine makes it look. The weight of all those trees on one wagon must have been 40 tonnes at least - does anyone know?

The pipes must be very strong, slung at each end without even the slightest sign of bending over what looks like a 10 - 20m length.
A bit hairy offloading when it's windy I bet.
