Farnborough to Basingstoke

Hi all,
My first post so sorry if its a bit lame! I am currently in the process of buying a house which backs directly onto the main Waterloo - Southampton line the noise doesn't bother me in the slightest and in fact the more the merrier was just wondering about freight movements on this line (and their timings if poss) hopefully there are quite a few.

Welcome Eelmoor,
There is plenty of freight through Basingstoke but it goes to and from Reading, not Farnborough.

Stone trains operate between Whatley or Merehead and Woking yard regularly, hauled by class 59, these pass Farnborough.
Hope this helps.

Having now been in my house for a couple of months Im beginning to get to know the different sounds of the usual trains, (Class 159, 450, 444) I can also now differentiate these from the class 66 EWS that are fairly frequent, yesterday I heard a different noise coming down the track, it was a Pullman being pulled by I believe a class 67. Ive posted in the derailed section as well but forgot about this thread so apologies nowthat this question has appeared twice...where would I go on the net to fid out about unusual mopvements down my bit of track (just so I can get advence warning and possibly pics)
