Grand Paris Rail Project - France

One of the major rail project for Paris is "Grand Paris" and it is going to connect all the suburbs around the city and total distance covering of 250km.New lines construction begins in 2015 and carry out in phases up to 2030.After completion of this project nearly 150,000 cars will be removed from Paris roads.

From the way it's worded it rather sounds like they'll be doing it forcibly. Should be worth seeing.

You've got to admit that our system of painting a red C in the midddle of the road and charging people lots of money every time they drive over it is both cheaper, and quicker to install.

After the massive underground work in London with Cross Rail and the like I bet much of the knowledge gained will be shared with the French contractors.
The French are a bit late off the mark with this undertaking.
