Great news for the Rother Valley Railway and Kent & East Sussex Railway - planning permission has been granted for the rebuilding of the railway between Northbridge Street, Robertsbridge & Junction Road, near Bodiam. Once completed, this will fill in the 2 mile gap between the RVR's current limit of operations from Robertsbridge at Northbridge Street to Junction Road, which is 1/2 mile east of Bodiam - the most easterly point of the K&ESR.
There is a lot of work to do of course! I believe there are 3 level crossings to install plus bridges and embankments to be rebuilt before relaying the 2 miles of track, with all associated signalling etc.
