And the NETWORK RAIL rule book states:
YOU MUST NOT GO ON OR NEAR THE LINE UNLESS IN THE COARSE OF YOUR DUTIES. This is basic PTS
I don't think taking photo's or video constitutes duties.
I have taken photos when I have spoken to the signaller from the signal post telephone but then again I am protected by 126 ton of loco and my train.
