Seen running from Hooton into the sidings near Ellesmere Port Signal Box then back towards Hooton.

Move at approx 1330.

Managed to get a run on the 90 from Milton Keynes...

Managed to get a run on the 90 from Milton Keynes to BNS.

Thrashed all the way, apart from stops at Coventry and International!

Can't keep up with Pendolino timings though (which is obvious...

They are not just "placed" strategically to make...

They are not just "placed" strategically to make it easier to get engineering trains to site, they are used for single line working when emergencies such as a broken down train or track fault arises....

Possession used to be given up at around 05:40 and a container train would pass very soon after.

Suppose so. There are still some speed restrictions around the Weaver Jn area and the new VHF frequency service doesn't leave much/any room for manoevre if something goes wrong.

virgin loco hauled service

Does anyone know when the 90 hauled service from Euston to Preston in starting. ?

Think it's meant to be the 1623 service, should have started on the 26/1.
