They'll privatise the maintenance and operational bits I suppose. I can't imagine buying the Forth Bridge...

It will however be introduced on HS1 & 2 and any further extensions of the high speed system. This will allow cross-border ERTMS trains from Europe to get far into the UK so no reason to push too...

That's the one. It's 4 miles to Wylfa as the crow flies.. Presumably it's a brownfield site. Using the Amlwch branch for reactor construction etc could be a win-win for all concerned..

I doubt if they forecast HS2, or the increase in intercontinental freight via the channel tunnel resulting from the opening up...

The problem with railways is you have to think 20 years ahead. Factor in the eventual run to Buxton, HS2 feeder, Sainsbury's freight siding, quarry products via Peak Rail, shunting the quarry sidings...
