Just to add to the info on the UK, I believe Wolverhampton in the West Midlands had High & Low level at one time & London has High & Low level stations at Willesden where the North London line...

I also have walked from Dawlish to Dawlish Warren & it's a very scenic line so was horrified to see the damage. Have also seen all the shots of excursions along this line, it's got to be a priority...

I still believe that privatisation was the worst...

I still believe that privatisation was the worst thing that happened. Although as has been said Virgin do seem to have done a reasonable job.
I'll reserve judgement on FG until the first problems...

I think all the railways should be nationalised again, at least there would not be so many companies involved in operating a charter. Present situation is ridiculous.
