What a pity

One cut up already the other expected to be gone by next week. After over 20 years in storage these former I.O.W ex LT stock are to become nothing more than razor blades

I thought a couple of these might make it. Seven cars were moved from Fratton (where quite a few had accumulated following shipment from the Isle of Wight), and found themselves on display at the Open Day at Morden (Northern Line) Depot on 4th November 1990. One of the unit numbers was 485 044 (not that unit numbers ever meant much on the IOW), and the vehicles were 2, 7, 13, 14, 23, 24 and 49. Here's a photo of 485 044 on the day, looking a bit more spick & span than your recent photos. Shame, but they weren't that much fun to ride in! I got a cabride in one around 1989 from Ryde St Johns to Shanklin - a tad ricketty!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all & sundry. :)

Seems quite odd to me, that the I.O.W railway hadn't got a static unit at least as part of the overall history of Railways there:rolleyes: Didn't realise there were any of these units still left. Shame...

They are sadly not my pics. I have many happy memories riding (or should that be Rydeing) on them
