model rail/dapol sentinel

can any one help me i see the dapol are making a LNER/GWR sentinel which is a model which i thought i would never see as a RTR, and i am sure that a lot of you thought the same. what i would like to know is can it be used as an ex-LMS loco, as the lms 47180-83's were 1 cwt more. i know thats not much but it could be a panel or some thing? as all the photos i have of both the y3 and the 47180's are on the same side. any help would be welcome thanks

The four listed by Syd are only the first batch. Model Rail are planning batches to include LMS, London Midland Region, other LNER/Eastern Region and Industrial Versions later.

Full details are in the January Copy of Model Rail.

I saw pre-production versions including the working one in opperation at Warley in November and they looked good. Can't decide if I will get one.

There are one or two of Hornby's 2011 releases that appeal with "Scots Guardsman" at the top of the list. We also have yet to see what Bachmann are planning for the next 18 months!

Best wishes for 2011.

My reading of the article is that reruns of the first liveries with different numbers and decoration alterations will be subject to demand but that LMS etc. versions will follow. We will just have to hope that that is the case!

I would hope that MR can sell more than 2,000!

Best wishes,

John H-T.

I would have thought there would be a good response to the model as it is something that most modelers would have thought they would never see in RTR form. As you say "We will just have to hope that that is the case!"

P.S. Hope you enjoy the coming of the New Year, I'm off to our annual street party and fireworks display.

Hope you had a good time last night Syd.

Not sure if I will get one as there are quite a few other new releases I am interested in. I have orders in for the Kermow Well Tank and the O2, The 00 Works 2F and GWR livery Class 57. Then there is Hornby's Scots Guardsman and Bachmann's 3F and Derby Lightweight DMU! Looking further ahead there is Rails 10000! Plus whatever Bachmann have in store for 2011-12.

Best wishes for 2011.

Thanks John H-T, I had an even better time today, Jan 1st as it is our 38th wedding anniversary. Got married in the days when Jan 1st was not a public holiday.
I also have an order in for the Kernow Well Tank and want the F7 and the new F4 as well as the Sentinel.

Congratulations Syd. Glad you have two great days!

Best wishes,

John.
