Unknown train - please help!

Hi there, I wonder can anyone help me, I'm trying to identify this train but I can't seem to find the same in any images online. I'm wondering if it might be an American train even? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Hello Matt and a warm welcome to the forum. Your mystery Loco (Not Train, that's what it pulls.) looks like a London & North Western Railway 0-8-0 to me, although I'm not sure which variant of that type it is. They were built at Crewe Between 1891 and 1902 ish, and eventually totalled 572 locos.

Hope this is some help.

Regards, 62440.

I know my eyes are a bit suspect but the rear pair of wheels (under the cab) look a bit smaller.

So could it be an 0-6-2 ?

Look closer Phillip, I thought the same as you to start with, but there's a coupling rod visible. It's an optical illusion caused by the splashers that makes the rear wheel look smaller.

Cheers, 62440.

OK then, it is an 0-8-0

Now,how about a B class, cos it's got outside cylinders !

I don't know if this is an A or a B, but it looks right.

Cheers, 62440.

That's fantastic, it looks like the train to me.

Many thanks indeed,

Matt

'Loco', sorry.

First time I've heard that distinction

Thanks again

Matt
