Haywards Heath

Does anyone know anything about Sophie?

A loco from, presumably, 1840 on display, again presumably for the 175th Anniversary.

It looks like a Bury bar frame, from before John Gray designed the locos which inspired David Joy in his design for the Jenny Lind, arguably the first mass-produced engine.

Incidentally I was amused by a comment on the Facebook page:

Quote:

Without a doubt the best place to catch a train in Haywards Heath. Trying to catch a train elsewhere in Haywards Heath is tricky because they don't stop. When you go to the station they stop and the doors open to let you on, considerably reducing the risk of injury or death.

Is this it ?

Looks like a re-creation.

And a bit about the 175 years celebration.

Ah right. As you say, a replica.
