garden railway restoration

Just added some photos from our garden railway,
45 mm gauge and either LGB Toy Train or 7/8 scale. Just about 100 feet and one and half minutes per lap. The tram unit does run smoother and quieter than the Toy Train and runs for 15 minutes on 3 fuel tablets and covers about 1000 feet before needing more water and fuel.
Pity about the smell though as it does not compare favourably with coal smoke.

Thanks for posting the photo's John, Look forward to seeing more as time goes on. The design of the layout makes for lots of interest and landscape features. Enjoyed

As yet the 'layout' is very simple,
It is a figure 8 with the top loop inside but there are plans for extensions in the form of at least one siding plus a spur to under the water butt tap along with a water crane beside the 'main line'. The stream is crossed twice, once on a bridge and again as it overflows the top pond through a large pipe under the track. A week ago it was all overgrown and even the dinosaurs were barely to be seen but the urge came to re-lay the track after 2 years so a lot of garden clearing needed doing. SWMBO has remarked that playing trains is the only way she can get me to clear up outside.
Bought plenty of meths today so more testing after my afternoon nap.
