Northern to replace Pacers with '21st Century' trains

Rail operator Northern is replacing its 30-year-old Pacers with new trains.

The 98-strong fleet will come into service by Christmas and are capable of travelling at 100mph (160 km/h), will be fully accessible, and have wi-fi and plug sockets.

Very confusing story. Are the new trains going to be 98 new coaches or 98 x 4 coach trains ? Are they going to be diesel or electric ? If they are going to be electric, how will they access the majority of Northern lines ? It will be great to see the tail lights of the 142/3/4´s but I won´t hold my breath yet.
