Mixed signal gantry.

Hi Folks,

I took the photo below of a Wrexham & Shropshire train leaving Shrewsbury a couple of weeks ago.

I've only just noticed that the signal gantry is part semaphore, and part colour lights. Is it just me, or is that fairly unusual ?!

All the best

Martin

I agree Martin. I can't remember seeing a mixed gantry for a long time.
I don't know the area very well but could it be the transition point where the Crewe line becomes colour-lights but the Gobowen line remains semaphores?
Perhaps one of the drivers on the forum can say if it's unusual?

Interesting shot. Can't think of any other examples.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
