Very sad news
With great regret steam driver/fireman and diesel driver Paul Kane collapsed and died while firing A4 60019 from York to Kings Cross on Saturday night.
Paul was a Carlisle man from the days of steam who I spent a good deal of time with. His knowledge, laughter and advise will be greatly missed. RIP Paul. The trip to mallaig will never be the same.... |
My deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Paul. RIP.

A sad day for the steam world. May he rest in peace and my condolences go to friends, collegues and family.
May I ask if he was the regular fireman for the Jacobite? |
RIP
May he rest in peace my condolences go to his family.
|
No sfe, he was one of the 2 regular drivers of the jacobite, although he did love firing - and was extremly good at it to.
As I said, the trip to mallaig will never be the same, nor will the singing of 'whos afraid of beasdale bank' after succesfully reaching the summit!!! |
Thank you Paul. RIP.
Best wishes, John H-T. |
Sad news indeed. My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Paul.
