Waterslide Transfers

Hi folks

I need a little information on how to make waterslide transfers

I know that you need a special paper to use as a base but what type is it

I know that you use a varnish to mount the image on then cover the image with more varnish to seal it (I used to use MATT varnish where I could)

Can anyone also tell me can you print direct to a varnish treated paper which would help a fair bit

but I can't remember what the paper is called - all I can remember is that it is shiny one side and rather like blotting paper the other

Hi Mad caravanner
the paper is called waterslide decal paper for inkjet printers. you don't have to treat it it is ready to print on. what you have to do is chose a item you wish to have as a transfer, print it onto the waterslide paper and leave to dry, cut the item out soak it in water for 20 sec and then place onto your model. leave for 24 hours to fully dry the background will dry white, then seal it with a coat of oil based varish if you want the background to go clear or waterbased varish if you want the back ground to stay white. try Amazon they sell the paper and varnish, or www.lazertran.com. hope that helps
