Petition To Retain Virgin trains

Hi all,
I hope it is appropriate to place this here, I found it on an N gauge group. I just wondered if anyone would like to sign this government petition to re look at Virgin on the West Coast. My wife uses it every three weeks and has good things to say and encouraged me to sign this.

Best regards

John

Yep, I've read the petition and agree with it completely so I've added my vote.

There are just over 99,000 signatures so far.

Not for me,I'm afraid.
This has nothing to do with providing a service better than any other company - it's all to do with trying to maintain Bransons empire.
Just how much money has this "private" company had from the taxpayer over the course of the franchise ?
Not to mention the awful Voyagers and Pendolinos that they've forced on us.
Virgin ? - No Way.

The Dft have awarded the franchise to the highest bidder as they have done with every other franchise that has been tendered.
I have no axe to grind with either company . The best bid won I understand, that's all I need to know.

I hope First make a total success of this.

Absolutely agree - though I see the petition has now reached the magic 100,000. Doesn't make any difference though, as all either company wants to do is screw the absolute maximum amount of profit out of us to line their fat pockets.

I'm certainly not a lover of any form of privatisation as I see always that the effect is loss of jobs,or the company sold abroad.
Having said that, I would guess that Richard Branson would continue to do the better job.
It seems to me that the lesser of the two evils is to leave Virgin in place.
I have signed.
