On or about the railway.
The enclosed link demonstrates how you need to keep a good lookout and keep your wits about you when working on a live railway.
This report reflects how easy it could be to injured when taking your mind of what you are doing even for a moment. Remember that on the railway every thing is big and heavy, dirty and if it hits you it hurts. I am glad these chaps walked away from this with minor injuries. http://www.raib.gov.uk/cms_resources...t_East_Jct.pdf |
Yes, when you are doing a risky job everyday it could be quite easy to be constantly aware of danger. Failure to do so could be deadly or lead to serious injury. I am thankful that in visiting oover 240 steam sheds I survived untouched. When I think now of lines of locos in steam in the dark with equipment all over the place in retrospect perhaps shed foremen refusing entrance might have been doing me a favour.
