First comment - the video is too long so I haven't watched it. Thirteen and a half minutes is too long for a review.

I have the limited Edition Lode Star. In general it is an excellent model and the detail is very good. It is therefore very upsetting that Hornby have spoilt is with two very small flaws:

1, The molded hand rails on the cab sides. At the price they should have been separated fitting and do detract from the overall effect.

2. 12 spoke bogie wheel when they should have 10. It is noticeable as the spokes look too crowded. It is particularly annoying as Hornby already have the correct wheels for the Castle.

Otherwise it is a superb model. Sorry I do not have the patience to watch the video.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

John I agree that when Hornby have done it right on other models why not on a similar one ????

The problem is that they are doing things on the cheap so moulding hand rails will get preference which for enthusiasts is such a pain
BUT
for the people buying them as toys equally so when they charge so much for items with mistakes

No probs John H-T, there are longer reviews out there, but we try to cap ours at 15 mins maximum. Thanks for watching either way.

As far as I'm aware Hornby are supplying the correct 10 spoke bogie wheels, or at least that is what I've read up in BRM Magazine, so they are available if you call them up. But it still a bad flaw from Hornby. Also I can't agree enough on the cab grab handles being moulded, and also no builders plate on the tender of Glastonbury Abbey. Other than them flaws its an exellent model.
