Sorry chaps - memory bank shutdown; I visited the NRM in 1988, saw a BIG Chinese loco. I'd just assumed (recently) that it must have been a QJ, but I've just checked my notes from that day, and it was a 4-8-4, numbered 607. Ooops.

Its a beauty and a beast, its just a shame it doesn't have a red star on the front and China Railway logo's on it! :)

Thats a good photopic and added to my favorite sites! :)

I'm not really a steam man, but I've always liked Chinese steam, its a pity that I've missed the boat for mainline steam. :(

Well its the youngun's layout so let him have the stock he likes, no matter how strange it may seem to only want 153's & 156's :)

There are some good DMU models out there, personally I would quite like to see a Strathclyde 156 running about, I'm sure Hornby did a half decent example a few years back...........:)

Tosh! When I went to the NRM and saw this great big Chinese loco, I travelled to Southampton on a class 155 unit (later converted into 2 class 153's). So it's all connected....;)
