I have just come across another webcam that has been installed on a Swiss loco.
This time it is on a loco belonging to the metre gauge Montreux Oberland Bernois (MOB) railway. The line is very scenic and runs between Montreux (on Lake Geneva) and Zweisimmen (in the Bernese Oberland) passing through the famous ski resort of Gstaad.
IMHO It is one of the best quality railway webcams that I have seen.

Very interesting John, one thing you notice right away is how clean everything is, the track, the streets, why can`t we have our railways like that.

Chris.

Being efficient in what they do and keeping things clean and tidy just comes naturally to most Swiss.
Having said that I have noticed some drop-off in standards recently especially amongst the younger ones. Perhaps, in a few years time, it will be just as bad as it is here.:(

That would be a shame John.

Good site though, I'm off work for the next fortnight so I'll be dipping into it on a regular basis.

Just had a look at the cam. Very interesting, you can see the track several times per minute!

I agree, when in Switzerland, to us the clean and tidy look is so noticable. Such a contrast to here. :(

Very interesting at one station as during the station stop you can watch the shunter at work in the sidings. Also movement of vehicles and people. It appears to take one photograph about every 20 seconds, pity it is not streaming. :)

On the www.bildersammlung.ch web page you will also find a web cam page for the Brienz Rothorn Bahn the format is similar to the MOB cam.
There are also two sites which show a railway quite incidentaly one on the Rigi at the Kulm restaurant comes under the Hotel catagory and one at Lungern on the Zentralbahn which comes under the wetter catagory.
There is also an interesting and very scenic webcam on the Stadt Thun, ship of the BLS on the Thunersee. The ship is often parked along side the freight branch to Thun docks and there are occasional workings seen.

It's Snowing !!

For a Swiss cabride in some of the first snows of the Winter go to:

http://www.bildersammlung.ch/bahn-webcam-goldenpass/webcam.php (http://www.bildersammlung.ch/bahn-webcam-goldenpass/webcam.php)

Select the date: 10:11:2007

Select the time: 10:23

Press the PLAY button.

On the right of your screen you will see the standard gauge connecting train arrive from Interlaken shortly before the metre gauge train you are on departs.:)
